Author Bio:

Olivia Goldsmith (née Randy Goldfield) was educated at New York University and began her professional life as a successful management consultant. She began writing fiction after her divorce--an event that directly inspired her first (and wildly popular) novel, THE FIRST WIVES' CLUB (1992), which was also made into a 1996 movie starring Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Goldie Hawn. During her brief but prolific writing career, Goldsmith produced a total of 11 novels and several children's books. In her satirical second novel, FLAVOR OF THE MONTH, she created an aging woman who undergoes plastic surgery in order to look younger and resurrect her failing acting career. Sadly, Olivia Goldsmith died of a heart attack under anaesthetic for facial surgery when she was only 54. A witty writer and, by all accounts, a generous and lovable friend, Goldsmith was also a dedicated and hardworking writer: at her death, she had just completed a new novel, WISH UPON A STAR.
