Synopsis:

It's a case of too many PIs in this 31st entry in the popular Spenser series. When Marlene Rowley suspects her husband Trent of cheating on her, she hires Boston sleuth Spenser to gather the evidence. However, not long after Spenser begins the snoop job, he learns that Trent thinks Marlene's being unfaithful, too, and has his own PI tailing her. There's yet another PI following Trent's mistress, who's one of Trent's co-workers at Kinergy, a major energy-trading corporation. At first, Spenser suspects that all of this surveillance and hanky-panky are somehow linked to the sex advice of a radio talk show host who's been encouraging his audience to become swingers. But when Trent is murdered, and Spenser is hired to look into it, his investigation turns toward Kinergy's shady business practices.

Author Bio:

Robert B. Parker is best known for his mystery novels featuring Private Detective Spenser. In 1957 he received his master's degree in English from Boston University. In addition to writing mystery novels, Parker has worked as an Army radioman, a technical and advertising writer, and a college English teacher.
