Synopsis:
The latest in Jayne Ann Krentz's bestselling ARCANE SOCIETY series, WHITE LIES features Clare Lancaster, a level 10 "parasensitive." Clare has the uncanny ability to read people with the accuracy of a lie detector test. She recently put her skill to good use, when she helped her half sister Elizabeth escape her abusive husband. But when the husband turns up dead, everyone is suspicious, with some pointing fingers at Clare. Clare heads to Arizona to assist her father with the family business, and there she meets the mysterious Jake Salter, a private investigator, and fellow parasentive. Not only can Clare not read Jake, but she finds herself extremely attracted to him. They soon begin an affair, until more murders occur, and they are both thrust into a dark, twisted conspiracy far more dangerous than they ever could have imagined. Krentz delivers another racy, romantic thriller with a paranormal twist.

Author Bio:
Jayne Ann Krentz, who writes under numerous pseudonyms, received a B.A. in history from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a master's in library science from San Jose State University. She worked for years as a librarian at Duke University and at other libraries. Krentz writes many different kinds of romances under her various bylines, but themes such as loyalty and trust are present throughout her work, from her historical romances to her more contemporary romantic suspense novels. In an attempt to help others through her own success, she established the Castle Humanities Fund at her alma matter, UCSC, which enables the library to purchase books it would otherwise be unable to acquire. Krentz has also contributed to elementary schools in Seattle, hoping to provide as many children as possible with the books they need to learn.
