Earth Day Audio Books
April 22, 2013, marks the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day. The idea was conceived in 1962 by Senator Gaylord Nelson who decided that it was time to put environmental issues into the political limelight. And although the nation's citizens were interested, the nation's politicians were not.
But in 1969, at the height of the anti-war movement, Senator Nelson tapped into the energy of the student demonstrations and announced his plans for a nationwide grassroots movement on behalf of the environment. The response was electric, and the first Earth Day, held on April 22, 1970 was a spectacular success.
Since then, Earth Day traditions have become an integral part of the nation's public commitment to protect our planet for generations to come. Audio Editions invites you to browse through our selection of outstanding audiobooks listed below to learn more about vital environmental issues.
