Charles Darwin Bicentennial

February 12, 2009, marks the 200th birthday of English naturalist Charles Robert Darwin, as well as the 150th anniversary of the publication of his seminal work, On the Origin of Species.

In celebration of the discoveries and life of Darwin -- the man who first described biological evolution via natural selection with scientific rigor -- February 12th has also been declared Darwin Day.

Darwin Day is both an expression of gratitude for the enormous benefits that scientific knowledge, acquired through human curiosity and ingenuity, has contributed to the advancement of humanity and a recognition of the diversity among us, celebrating our common humanity.

Join the celebration with this list of audiobook titles that not only examine Darwin's life and work also humorously chronicle the foilbles of those among us for whom evolution may still be a myth (see The Darwin Awards.)

Author: Phillip E. Johnson, Reader: Frederick Davidson

Darwin's theory of evolution is accepted by many as simple fact, and this acceptance shapes our way of thinking about a great many things. What if the idea is wrong? A Berkeley law professor examines the evidence, and concludes that complete confidence in Darwin's theory may be premature.
