NEH Summertime Favorite Audio Books on Tape and CD
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an
independent government agency that was created in 1965 to provide grants for high-quality humanities projects. Grants are awarded to such institutions as libraries, museums, public television and radio stations, colleges, as well as to individual scholars.
Since 1988, the National Endowment for the Humanities has compiled a list of classic literature recommendations "that will capture the attention of young people from kindergarten through high school."
Below you'll find the recommended audiobooks for Kindergarten to Grade 3, as well as links to lists for other age group lists. We invite you to join the thousands of teachers and parents who use these recommendations as an entertaining way to introduce the classics to young readers (and listeners).
