In 1918, Alex, an American soldier wounded in the Great War, comes to Gatford to escape his troubled past. The village is pastoral, but the neighboring woods are said to haunted by malevolent spirits and he is warned to steer clear of themand the faerie kingdom they border. But, drawn to its mysteries, he finds love, dangers, and wonders that will forever change his view of the world.
