2010 Distinguished Achievement in Production Audie Award Winner. In 1962 Mississippi, three women – two black, one white – come together for a clandestine project that puts them all at risk. Their determination changes a town and the way women view one another. A timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't. "Audio is THE way to be inside this story, brilliantly cast... Their musical speech and emotional connection to the characters are riveting. Listeners are swept up in the story."—AudioFile

This is an AMAZING recording! The cast is terrific and they draw you into the story, (which is compelling to begin with). Jenna Lamia, who plays Skeeter, can read me the phone book and I'll stay fascinated. Octavia Spencer is great as Minny, Bahni Turpin nails Aibileen. Even if you've already read the book, this is worth a listen!
This is a book best enjoyed via audio. the accents are truly believeable and enjoyable. I couldn't resist listening and didn't want it to stop. I can't wait for the authors next novel.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS AUDIO. nothing compares!
bravo for this new writer. I'm looking forward to her next novel. hope it also takes place in the south.
