Enter a snowy Christmas world where classic Grimm fairy tales meet the timeless story of Christmas. A Very Merry Christmas: Grimm Tales for a Cold Winter’s Night brings together beloved stories from the Brothers Grimm with Clement Clarke Moore’s classic Christmas poem, The Night Before Christmas. Woven throughout the collection are carefully adapted Bible stories drawn from the World English Bible (WEB), connected by warm, seamless transitions that bring the themes of the fairy tales naturally into the Christmas story. The collection includes The Night Before Christmas, The Elves and the Shoemaker, Snow-White and Rose-Red, Mother Holle, The Poor Man and the Rich Man, The Frog King, and The Star Money. As the stories unfold, listeners encounter themes of kindness, generosity, faith, courage, mercy, hope, and unexpected blessings. The biblical Christmas stories lead listeners to the heart of Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ—and include Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, the angels, and the Wise Men. Narrated by Bert Nichols Stauff, this collection brings classic fairy tales and the Christian Christmas story together in one memorable Christmas listening experience. Author Bio: The Brothers Grimm
The Brothers Grimm were German academics, linguists, cultural researchers, and authors. They are among the most well-known storytellers of European folk tales, and their work popularized such stories as “Cinderella,” “The Frog Prince,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Rapunzel,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” and “Snow White.” Their first collection of folk tales, Children’s and Household Tales, was published in 1812. The popularity of the Grimms’ collected folk tales has endured well beyond their lifetimes. The tales are available in hundreds of translations and have been made into popular Disney films, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.
