The Next Little Scandal in Texas: A Novel

Summary

Cordelia and the Chicks kick up dust as they rush to solve another murder in the charming small town of Sarsaparilla Falls, Texas, in this delightful follow-up mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of The Best Little Motel in Texas.

Sarsaparilla Falls is in an uproar after its new pastor, Hollis Thorne, is murdered at the pulpit—right in front of the congregation. Of course, Cordelia West and the women of the Chickadee Motel are caught in the thick of it again. Cordelia is certain she saw a flash of Arline’s caftan exiting a side door right after the pastor was stabbed in the back. But Arline is no killer… . even though the murder weapon is soon found under her mattress.

In a town is full of suspects, Cordelia has her hands full. Her mother Sherilynn is butting heads with the sheriff, Arline’s bail is set at a million dollars, and the other Chicks may now be keeping secrets of their own.

Lyla Lane delivers a sparkling second novel that is both enchanting and wonderfully entertaining. Filled with the sly hijinks and merry mystery that made The Best Little Motel in Texas a reader favorite, The Next Little Scandal in Texas continues the story of Sarsaparilla and its delightful denizens.
