Getting through the sixth grade is tough enough for Jack Gantos. But the people in his life are making it even tougher. How can you grow up normally when everyone around you acts like a tabloid talk show wannabe? What do you do when: A neighbor feeds spoiled pork chops to an alligator in the canal behind your family's run-down rental home? Your little brother shoots down stunt planes with his finger? And-if that isn't enough-your older sister mocks your belief in UFOs? Fortunately, he also has a diary, so he can keep track of his crazy, outrageously funny, and unbelievably mixed-up sixth-grade year. Heads or Tails is Jack Gantos' unforgettable story of a quirky sixth-grader and the dazzlingly wacky world he lives in. In this delightfully involving narration, Greg Longenhagen captures all of Jack's bewilderment, angst and humor.
