Princess Bulldog #2: Pups on Parade

In the second book in this highly illustrated, early middle grade trilogy that’s perfect for young and emergent readers, Princess Lola the pupasus (she’s a puppy with wings!) and her friends scramble to get ready for the annual Friendship Parade. Lola, the princess of Friendship Mountain, isn’t your usual princess—she’s a pupasus! A puppy dog with wings! And since Friendship Mountain is the source of friendship magic, every year the pupdom celebrates friends with a Friendship Parade! Lola can’t wait to ride on a float, play the games, and pass out pup-tarts to all her besties. But when all the parade pup-tarts go missing, the bubble machine breaks, and a basket of rotten eggs is found underneath Lola’s float, the Friendship Parade is suddenly in jeopardy! Can Lola and her friends save the parade? Or is their celebration doomed to be a disaster? What to expect: BRIDGE INTO READING FLUENCY: This early middle grade title is perfect for readers who are just starting to grow out of chapter books but are still developing their grade-level reading fluency. With black-and-white illustrations on every spread, short chapters, and fast-paced storytelling, Princess Bulldog is an engaging, confidence-building read. LESSONS IN FRIENDSHIP: At the heart of Princess Bulldog is Lola’s relationship with her two best friends, Weezy and Leon. While the trio doesn’t always agree, they model good communication skills, owning up to your mistakes, and forgiveness—as well as addressing themes about inclusion, friendship, and communicating! MAGIC AND ROYALTY: Lola is both a princess AND a bulldog with wings (a pupasus!) – this whimsical mix of royalty and magic will intrigue young readers and spark their imagination.
