Abuse of 2 year old dogs & author writes about brain function & brain surgery but misidentifies parts of the brain.

The serial killer abuses 2 sweet loving dogs, killing people is one thing but experimenting on dogs is another. One of the dogs is a golden retriever, serial killer does brain surgery on both dogs.
The author discusses brain surgery, brain function etc but did not do his research. He describes the function of the amygdala but identifies it as the hippocampus. Clearly does not understand the human brain let alone a dog's brain.
The story would have been good but the description of the sweet loving faces of the dogs while they are being hurt is just too upsetting. Writing about the brain when he clearly doesn't know what he is talking about is an unforgivable sin for a writer. Daniel Hecht do your research!
